🐦 Log 10 bird species

🏆 Complete the challenge and earn your digital finisher’s badge

⭐ Be in with a chance to win a pair of NL Pure 8x32 binoculars

This spring, Swarovski Optik challenges you to sharpen your bird identification skills with the Master the Moment Challenge. The goal is simple: log 10 bird species—but here’s the twist. Challenge yourself to identify birds you find tricky. Whether it's warblers that all look the same or speedy birds that rarely sit still, this is your chance to improve your skills and see nature more clearly.

Complete the challenge and you’ll earn a digital finisher’s badge, plus a chance to win a pair of NL Pure 8x32 binoculars worth over £2000!

Swarovski Optik has always been about seeing the unseen. The NL Pure 8x32 binoculars are cutting-edge optics designed to enhance your bird ID experience. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced birder, this challenge is about pushing your skills and mastering the moment.

This challenge is for anyone with a Birda account. This challenge is for tickable species only. You can read more about tickable species here.

This challenge starts and ends based on the GMT time zone. All individual species logged globally will count towards this challenge and will be included in any leaderboard placement. All sightings must be logged before midnight on the day the challenge ends.

Be honest with yourself and other birders, but above all, respectful of them and any other outdoor users, everywhere – especially online. If you didn’t see it (or hear it), please don’t put it on Birda.

Fantastic App
This is a really lovely app, for everyone interested in birds - from newbies to old hands. There is a very friendly feel to the community and you will genuinely learn a lot as you record your sightings and photos. There are lots of badges and competitions to keep you engaged, and a host of really useful features.

Very Wholesome App
Joined this app with a new interest in watching birds to help me find out what I was spotting. The community is very active in helping identify birds which is great and everyone is very kind so it’s just a nice wholesome community. I would definitely recommend this for any bird spotter 😄

Easy to use and accurate
Love this app. It is easy to use and accurate, Their backup communication is really good. I noted a missing species. All through the process, I was kept informed about the progress in correcting the information. I now have the corrected, updated version. 😁 Thanks!

A Friendly Place
I love using the bird app, I have a pretty good knowledge of birds. But I do have some gaps in it, so it’s nice to have a safe space to check on a sighting to confirm the species. It’s really enjoyable and I love the badges you can collect. It’s like a real life Pokémon go.
