🐦 Log 30 species 📍 Anywhere Spot 30 bird species this July—join the adventure from wilderness to window. Ready, set, birdwatch! This month's bird is the Collared Sunbird. A small, vibrant bird native to eastern and southern Africa. Males are especially colorful with metallic green, yellow, and dark blue plumage, while females display more muted tones. These birds measure about 9-10 cm in length and have long, curved beaks adapted for sipping nectar, though they also consume insects and spiders. Known for their role in pollination, they transfer pollen between flowers as they feed. Collared Sunbirds build intricate oval nests with side entrances, using materials like grass and spider webs, and are known for their high-pitched songs and calls, particularly during male courtship displays.

Been loving using this app to log my bird sightings and work together with community members to identify different birds. I've already learned a lot since I started about a month ago!

Fantastic app - Love it!
Love this app and have used it almost daily. Lots of species information and easy to use. Love seeing birds spotted by other users in the UK and worldwide.

A great app
Enjoying it immensely and finding it useful too. Recording the different birds and counting them is showing me how the present climate is affecting them all. I've trebled the numbers by planting native hedging. A great app.

Great app for beginner twitchers
I’ve had a passion of photographing birds for a long time now but have only just gotten into proper birdwatching, and this app is brilliant for those just getting started. There is a great sense of community among users and the app is very easy to use and professional. Awesome app altogether

Learning Birding with Birda
I’m relatively new to birding as a hobby, and Birda is a great way to keep track off all the species I see. I’m still working on my ID skills, but the app is great for figuring out potential species, and the online community is so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend Birda to both early and serious birders! 🐦
