About

๐Ÿฆ Log 75 species

Join the India Big Year Challenge 2025! Refine your birdwatching expertise, and aid in citizen science as you explore the unique splendor of India's bird species. The remarkable array of birds in India reflects its vast biodiversity and diverse ecosystems. Challenge yourself to identify and record 75 different bird species by the end of the year!

This challenge is for anyone with a Birda account. This challenge is for tickable species only. You can read more about tickable species here.

This challenge starts and ends based on the Indian Standard Time. All individual species logged within India will count towards this challenge and will be included in any leaderboard placement. All sightings must be logged before midnight (IST) on the day the challenge ends.

Be honest with yourself and other birders, but above all, respectful of them and any other outdoor users, everywhere โ€“ especially online. If you didnโ€™t see it (or hear it), please donโ€™t put it on Birda.

The best bird logging app
Birda is honestly the best bird logging app I have seen. I love all the features it has from being able to do a session and log all the birds you see in one sitting, to being able to connect with other birders from all over the globe!

We've been waiting for an App like this
Excellent! We've been waiting for an app like this! Thank you! It would be nice if you could assign additional birds to sessions later!

Recommend for any bird watcher
Very wholesome app: I joined this app with a new interest in watching birds to help me find out what I was spotting. The community is very active in helping identify birds which is great and everyone is very kind so itโ€™s just a nice wholesome community. I would definitely recommend this for any bird spotter ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Great app for learning Birds
Iโ€™ve been using the app for a couple of months and love it....Someone said itโ€™s like a real life Pokรฉmon Go for birds. Theyโ€™re not far off! Itโ€™s something that the family can do that gets you out and about. Well worth downloading no matter your age.

Really great app
Itโ€™s easy to use and itโ€™s fun to log the birds you notice on a walk or just in your garden. Thereโ€™s a option to record the birds you see in a session which is really nice. Good excuse to stop for a while and just watch birds. I am also enjoying the information part where you can find out fact about birds from all over the world.

Clean and easy to use
Really enjoying this app, it's clean and easy to use. I love the ease of being able to add those one-off birds without starting a whole checklist. I also like the social aspect, like the parts of my Facebook I like, without the ads and junk, just birds. Can't wait to see it become more populated.

Great bird recording
For a while Iโ€™ve been trying to find an app to easily record bird lists and day out and struggled to find one that I like. Birda is great for this, straightforward and a great community!

Birda fan
I really enjoy using Birda, all sightings are recorded and photos can be added. There are monthly challenges which help to get you out to record your sightings. The Birda community are great and are happy to help with unidentified bird sightings. Suitable for all ages and experience!
