About

๐Ÿฆ Log 75 species

Join the Kruger National Park Challenge 2024, improve your birdwatching, and help with wildlife research in South Africa's famous park. Discover the diverse birds of Kruger National Park. Aim to spot 75 different species by the end of the year!

This challenge is for anyone with a Birda account. This challenge is for tickable species only. You can read more about tickable species here.

This challenge starts and ends based on the SAST time zone. All individual species logged within the Kruger National Park will count towards this challenge and will be included in any leaderboard placement. All sightings must be logged before midnight on the day the challenge ends.

Be honest with yourself and other birders, but above all, respectful of them and any other outdoor users, everywhere โ€“ especially online. If you didnโ€™t see it (or hear it), please donโ€™t put it on Birda.

Great app for learning Birds
Iโ€™ve been using the app for a couple of months and love it....Someone said itโ€™s like a real life Pokรฉmon Go for birds. Theyโ€™re not far off! Itโ€™s something that the family can do that gets you out and about. Well worth downloading no matter your age.

Sense of Community
A great app, which is continually being improved. What really comes through is the passion of those behind the app. The sense of community is brilliant, so much help and support provided to new and/or in experienced birders.

Great bird recording
For a while Iโ€™ve been trying to find an app to easily record bird lists and day out and struggled to find one that I like. Birda is great for this, straightforward and a great community!

Learning Birding with Birda
Iโ€™m relatively new to birding as a hobby, and Birda is a great way to keep track off all the species I see. Iโ€™m still working on my ID skills, but the app is great for figuring out potential species, and the online community is so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend Birda to both early and serious birders! ๐Ÿฆ

Just what birding needs
We need more fun in birding, for years it has had a reputation for being up tight and stuffy and only perused by retirees and anoraks. Birda helps change that perception and firmly brings birding into the 21st century! Fun, interactive while still contributing to science and conservation. If you arenโ€™t on it, why not??
