About

๐Ÿฆ Log 75 species

Join the India Big Year Challenge 2024! Refine your birdwatching expertise, and aid in citizen science as you explore the unique splendor of India's bird species. The remarkable array of birds in India reflects its vast biodiversity and diverse ecosystems. Challenge yourself to identify and record 75 different bird species by the end of the year!

This challenge is for anyone with a Birda account. This challenge is for tickable species only. You can read more about tickable species here.

This challenge starts and ends based on the Indian Standard Time. All individual species logged within India will count towards this challenge and will be included in any leaderboard placement. All sightings must be logged before midnight (IST) on the day the challenge ends.

Be honest with yourself and other birders, but above all, respectful of them and any other outdoor users, everywhere โ€“ especially online. If you didnโ€™t see it (or hear it), please donโ€™t put it on Birda.

Makes you want to spot birds more
I think this app is fun. It makes you want to spot birds more so I guess in a way it encourages you to get out and about instead of sitting in front of the TV.

Recommend for any bird watcher
Very wholesome app: I joined this app with a new interest in watching birds to help me find out what I was spotting. The community is very active in helping identify birds which is great and everyone is very kind so itโ€™s just a nice wholesome community. I would definitely recommend this for any bird spotter ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Just what birding needs
We need more fun in birding, for years it has had a reputation for being up tight and stuffy and only perused by retirees and anoraks. Birda helps change that perception and firmly brings birding into the 21st century! Fun, interactive while still contributing to science and conservation. If you arenโ€™t on it, why not??

Great app
I use this app all the time as itโ€™s quick and easy to log individual sightings or whole birding sessions. Itโ€™s an excellent way to meet new people and the forum is full of really friendly people. The challenges are a great way to get involved and learn more about birds. Cannot recommend it enough!

Terrific App for Birders
Downloaded Birda around the time my interest in birding was sparked, and it has been a terrific app to help me (1) share my experience, (2) document my sightings, and (3) learn more about birds in general. That said, I also believe Birda is a fantastic app for birders of all experience levels. Great community!

Easy to use and accurate
Love this app. It is easy to use and accurate, Their backup communication is really good. I noted a missing species. All through the process, I was kept informed about the progress in correcting the information. I now have the corrected, updated version. ๐Ÿ˜ Thanks!
