The Grey-headed Fruit Dove, known scientifically as Ptilinopus hyogastrus, is a captivating avian species belonging to the Columbidae family. This bird is a true gem of the northern Moluccas, where it is found exclusively.
Upon encountering this dove, one is struck by its predominantly green plumage, which is complemented by a distinguished grey head. The eyes of this species are a deep red, providing a stark contrast to the subtle hues of its feathers. Its beak is a study in contrast as well, black with a yellow tip that seems to catch the light.
