The Sichuan leaf warbler, Phylloscopus forresti, is a diminutive and active bird, a member of the leaf warbler family that flits through the foliage of central China's forests.
This species can be identified by its overall greenish upperparts and pale underparts, which are characteristic of many leaf warblers. Its precise field marks, however, require a keen eye to distinguish from its congeners.
The Sichuan leaf warbler makes its home in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, as well as in areas where forests have been heavily degraded.
As its name suggests, this bird is endemic to central China, where it occupies a range that is both specific and restricted.
The IUCN Red List has classified the Sichuan leaf warbler as Least Concern, indicating that, for now, this species does not face an immediate threat of extinction in the wild.
