Ospreys

The osprey, known scientifically as the genus Pandion, is the sole member of the family Pandionidae. They are birds of prey with a near-universal presence, commonly recognized as a single living species known as Pandion haliaetus, although some experts differ and acknowledge two existing species. Subspecies distinctions have been made, notably the Pandion haliaetus cristatus found along the coastlines and islands of Australia, Southeast Asia, and the Indonesian archipelago. In addition to the living species, there are two extinct ospreys known, namely Pandion homalopteron and Pandion lovensis, which were identified and named in 1976 and 1985, respectively.

This is a really lovely app, for everyone interested in birds - from newbies to old hands. There is a very friendly feel to the community and you will genuinely learn a lot as you record your sightings and photos. There are lots of badges and competitions to keep you engaged, and a host of really useful features.

Great app for learning Birds
I’ve been using the app for a couple of months and love it....Someone said it’s like a real life Pokémon Go for birds. They’re not far off! It’s something that the family can do that gets you out and about. Well worth downloading no matter your age.

Clean and easy to use
Really enjoying this app, it's clean and easy to use. I love the ease of being able to add those one-off birds without starting a whole checklist. I also like the social aspect, like the parts of my Facebook I like, without the ads and junk, just birds. Can't wait to see it become more populated.

Great app for beginner twitchers
I’ve had a passion of photographing birds for a long time now but have only just gotten into proper birdwatching, and this app is brilliant for those just getting started. There is a great sense of community among users and the app is very easy to use and professional. Awesome app altogether
