Alcippe Fulvettas

Alcippe fulvettas, belonging to the unique Alcippeidae family, are a group of passerine birds. This genus has experienced several taxonomic revisions, with multiple species previously classified within Alcippe now relocated to other families, such as Paradoxornithidae, Sylviidae, and Pellorneidae, thereby spreading the birds commonly known as "fulvettas" across three different families. Alcippeidae is closely related to Leiothrichidae, the family of laughingthrushes. As of now, the Alcippe genus comprises ten species that are distributed across various regions of Asia, including India, Southeast Asia, China, and Indonesia. These species are the Brown fulvetta, Brown-cheeked fulvetta, Javan fulvetta, Mountain fulvetta, Black-browed fulvetta, Grey-cheeked fulvetta, David's fulvetta, Yunnan fulvetta, Huet's fulvetta, and Nepal fulvetta, each found in distinct ranges from island nations like Indonesia to countries across the Southeast Asian mainland, and as far as Japan and Taiwan.

A Friendly Place
I love using the bird app, I have a pretty good knowledge of birds. But I do have some gaps in it, so it’s nice to have a safe space to check on a sighting to confirm the species. It’s really enjoyable and I love the badges you can collect. It’s like a real life Pokémon go.

Great bird recording
For a while I’ve been trying to find an app to easily record bird lists and day out and struggled to find one that I like. Birda is great for this, straightforward and a great community!
