Gambia day 8 - Marakissa

Today we went to Marakissa, another beautiful and quite unspoilt reserve. Huge density of birds, and so much to see every minute. Our guide, Lamin, is fantastic - very patient and knowledgeable. As usual, we walked in the morning, but then we had a lovely Gambian lunch at a little lodge, cooked by the lady who had just fed the crocodiles! (Small boys were swimming in the river just a couple of hundred metres up from the crocodiles, but hopefully the crocs were all full from being fed…) My highlight was seeing a splendid sunbird and managing to get some photos 😁 Our last day of pre-booked birding, but I think we may and try to sneak another one in!
